Colonoscopy yesterday - no other lesions. YAY!!

I am 46yrs of age and live in Dunedin, New Zealand. I have four adult children and work in a large call centre.

I was what some people call a Super Woman before the dreaded Cancer came calling. No job was too big or too much of an effort. I loved my life, worked over 50 miles away as an accountant and I commuted daily by car. Went to a high impact aerobics class three times a week, taught arts and crafts most weekends as we as looked after my husband and two grown up sons.

It's been 2 months since my op to remove a Pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma Grade III from my left thigh. I'm on day 4 of a 30 day radiotherapy session and I start physio in a fortnight.
I'm down to one crutch if I leave the house and can hobble around on my own inside, as long as something is close by to hang on to.

I have been reading some horror stories regarding delays in cancer treatment in the UK, so thought you might find it interesting to hear my experience here in France, the country reputed to have the best health service in the world.

Although I was first diagnosed with cancer in November 2004 - Fireworks Night actually, 2 days before my 48th birthday - I have only just discovered and signed up to this site, although I have subscribed to a couple of sites for women with gyneacological cancers for a few years.

Hi Everyone,

Being Nuked

So many times have I contemplated beginning a blog, but for some reason an excuse always got in the way of me and the keyboard. So I saved everything up for one massive brain-dump. And here it is. I’d like to say it was worth waiting for, but in all reality it’s just my observations of the rollercoaster that has been the past 18 months of my life, with cancer.

I finished treatment 11 weeks ago now. I can't believe it!
I still have some effects from the treatment, mainly tiredness - I don't have energy...at all! I had to have a blood test last week just in case my thyroid has been affected by the radiotherapy.
