Cabin Fever
I've been in hospital for about 2 months now
and hopefully have only about 2 months to go.
The cabin fever/boredom is starting to get to
me big time. Any one in a similar situation
and have any advice to keep things interesting
(reading seems really difficult in here)?
Simple as a kettle, steady as a rock

Try a portable dvd player. and have a film a day.
we've got to keep smiling

Hi,
I know exactly how you feel. I have ALL and have spent a lot of time in hospital too. I take it you have a laptop with internet access whilst you are in hospital? If not, thats something that helped me - you can spend hours in the chatroom or on facebook. I've made some new friends through that. I now spend ages emailing people to keep in touch.
Unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do to reduce the cabin fever. Do you have people who can visit regularly? My mum visits after work each day and brings games such as cluedo and scrabble to pass the time. I play cards with my dad. i know of other patients who take their xbox or digibox in.
If you do have a laptop you could watch dvds, I've never watched so many dvds. I found watching dvds a kind of escapism. Also utube can provide hours of entertainment.
Something I started and haven't finished is writing a blog about my experience. A few people on here also have websites about their experiences.
Anyway theres a few suggestions, but I appreciate what you are saying about not being able to concentrate which makes it near on impossible to do much.
Keep going, you're halfway and doing really well.
