hi is anyone on taxotere, had first one yesterday and ache like flu all over, can we have ibruprofen on this drug? i know we cant have asprin but has anyone else had this one?
All help please. My temp is just 37C so am keeping an eye on it but i had night sweats last night and have stayed in bed today any info gratefully received thanks ladies xx

I had three taxotere treatments, after 3 FECs and was OK with ibuprofen till I had clots on my line then as I was on Warfarin I can't take it any more
Night sweats may be courtesy of the free menopause that you get with the chemo and I still have that joy - last taxotere was 10th July for me
Hope you feel more human soon with no problems thrown in....until I came on here I thought I was unlucky with various problems occurring but think its par for the course having shared others probs.
Good luck
Diane
Is there some Humour in my Tumour?
Hi
My husband has had 2 infusions of Taxotere & it had the worst side effects of any of the chemos he has had. He's had 2 others. This chemo had pushd him to make the decision to stop all chemo.
He's had major tingling in feet, hands, fatigue, metallic taste, no appetite -you name it. Good luck to you, maybe you can tolerate it better than him. He has esophageal cancer & I guess they were trying every thing. He is still sleeping, he's so tired. Kim in CA
Thanks Diane, i took them anyway, and managed a reasonable nights sleep, isnt it just the way you get over the night sweats in menopause then you get it all over again on this ruddy stuff. Oh well only 3 more treatments of this stuff then thats it hopefully prior to surgery. Thanks for the time of replying and best wishes for your treatment and recovery xxxxxxxxx
I am so sad to hear about your husband its really a rough ride isnt it. My first treatment was on monday, i managed to sleep last night and feel almost human this morning but the hands are tingly today so we shall see what horrors follow.
Lots of love to you both xxxxxxxx
thanks Diane, i hope you recover well - best wishes xxxxx
That Taxotere is nasty stuff, I had 4 rounds of it and found it much harder to take than my other chemos.... I felt like I'd been in the boxing ring with Mike Tyson after it so the oncology unit gave me v strong painkiller which made the walls wobble!!! When you go in for your next round, be sure to get something to help you.... the good news is that it will wear off, and you'll move on. Good Luck and take care of yourself, EJ x
Hi Janisrw, I think I've seen you on the main breast cancer site. I had 4 Taxotere, like many others here, and found it much worse than EC. I was told by the lovely nurses on our chemo ward to take Ibuprofen to ease the aches and pains, and took up to 6 a day when they were at the worst. It IS a nasty one, but I had the last one 7th August and can say, like those on here who have also finished it, that you soon lose the side effects and get back to your old self. You'll be surprised how well you feel when it's gone! All the best of luck, Maggie.
thanks maggie, i have two more to go now, first lot i had rash, aches, fever, you name it it was all there in its glory. This time i have had some tingling in hands and feet, no appetite or taste but no rash fever or aches and pains, i did sleep for the week after i had treatment though and couldnt lift head off pillow without feeling i wanted to pass out. I am now into week three which is ok no aches like last time but wonder what next treatment will bring, Its all very odd this isnt it? I feel so sorry for the lady whose poor husband couldnt take it at all. The things we do to get well xxxxxxx love to everyone xxx
