Cancer of the lymph nodes in pelvis
Hi, not sure if I am posting in the right forum so please advise if i'm wrong. My mum has just been diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes in the pelvis. She has been told that this is a very unusual type of cancer and she has to make a decision whether to have carboplatin or a combination of paclitaxel and carboplacin. If any members have experience of this type of cancer or these type of chemo drugs I would welcome any feedback. Mum has had cancer of the womb and was given the ten year all clear last year and so the cancer returning has been a terrible shock. The only reason we found out that the cancer had returned was because her leg started to swell up and it was found that she had thrombosis. The thrombosis was a result of the cancer. She has been told that the hospital do not know which is the best type of chemo for this particular cancer so any advice would really be appreciated. Mum had the intense chemo the last time she had cancer and couldn't tolerate the side effects and she is very cautious about given the go ahead for the combination chemo this time.
Thanks for taking the time to read this far. Good wishes to you all xxx

Hi Anxiety
I have only just joined as my dad was diagnosed with this cancer as a secondary also just three weeks ago out of the blue. What a shock!! He is experiencing so much pain in his leg it is very distressing. How is your mum getting on?? Sadlty my dad is terminal so am now looking to see how to help with the leg pain which is referred pain from the groin tumour.
Has your mum now had the treatment as I see it is some time you posted this and if so how is she managing?? and of course how are you??
