Is cancer triggered by yeast and fungus, is this oncologist correct, Bicarb of Soda treatment

My friend and neighbour died 2 years ago from secondary tumours after having chemo for breast cancer and lumps removed. We thought she was home and dry after 5 years clear, then she started to get lymphedeoma and breathing difficulties due to fluid in the plural cavity. She died adn a lovley mum, gran and friend was lost.
Now I hear that as well as her chemo she could have tried a therapy based on the fact that tumours are caused by fungus and that it can be treated with a simple sodium bicarbonate solution. I believe this doc has been told not to tell anyone about this because of the stink it would cause. I he is right a great evil is in charge of pharmaceutical companies. I googled bicarbonate of soda cancer and watched a YouTube video which looked very convincing, the guy showed evidence of it working, he is Italian I think. What does everyone think? Would you want your doc to give it a go? I would if there were even the smallest chance it would work. Why is this not on the news? Knowing that the mainstream doctors deny that Candida exists in the intestinal tract and if it does it follows it could get into the system and cause trouble. I have suffered with Candida so I KNOW that it exists in the gut.
I would be interested in all your thoughts on this.
God bless

Hi Whitters - interesting thought!

I just googled Candida and came up with lots of sites. The fact that it casuses thrush makes me think Hmm, logical that it could go on to cause further problems in that location... The advice from alternative practitioners seems to be that yeast requires nourishment to flourish so to eradicate it you have to give up various foodstuffs - the big no-nos being sugar, beer, bread made with yeast - and limit other foods. They do still include smoking on their list of contributory factors to cancer and other illnesses, so it doesn't sound too whacky to me. Oh dear - one bread machine for sale anyone? xxx Penny

Mumbo jumbo

Personally I think this should be taken with a good pinch of salt as well as bicarbonate of soda. I know damned well that my cancer was not caused by an infection, yeast or otherwise and I've never heard of doctors denying candida exists in the gut, in fact I've seen tiny babies treated for it - or is my GP just way ahead of his time? I don't think so.

Discuss.....

Candida

Of course thrush exists in the gastro-intestinal system. My husband is just having it treated because it was found in the course of a gastroscopy. It is a very common result of antibiotic treatment - you kill off the unpleasant bacteria with the antibiotics, but also the useful bacteria, and the imbalance results in the fungal infection thrush taking over and flourishing. So the doctor described it to me after one of my own thrush sessions, and hubby has just had three lots of antibiotics, so that's probably why he's got it.
And bicarbonate of soda isn't much help for candida either.

I wouldn't touch this with a bargepole.

sorry

sorry, this posted itself twice, and I can't get rid of it. Strange.

Hiya again Well I do know

Hiya again

Well I do know that I asked my doc if my IBS could be caused by candida and he refused to even test for it. I find it is more the nutritional docs who acknowledge that intestinal candida can cause big problems. I know they acknowledge that intestinal flora has to be in balance and can get out of balance with antibiotics but they only ever seem to offer treatment of thrush caused in the err 'other bits' lol.

It was just a thought. I never discount anything unless I know for sure, and I don't know for sure about the body, it is so complex. I can understand why people would think this is quackery and maybe it is, I just don't know. Since nobody has ever come up with a cure or a real cause besides smoking (which lowers defence against bacteria, parasites and fungus anyway) I think anything that causes inflammation could potentially cause the body to react against itself, kinda like autoimmune stuff. I am not a doc which is of course obvious. I always wonder about things though. I know for a fact though, a guy in the distant past was fired for advocating washing hands before delivering babies after doing autopsies and saved lots of lives, but was sacked for his pains. A long time after they realised why his observations and actions were warrented. Hence I try to keep an open mind. I just wondered what everyone else thought.
Still have a tendency to wonder why this guy is so adamant about it he could be wrong he could be right.
Just wonder if any of the oncologists ever tried it on anyone in England?
lotsa luv
