check up

Hi I am new to the site, had my mastectomy a year ago on the 17th aug 2007 and went back to work in feb 2008. Going to see consultant on 13th august 2008 and I am not sure what to expect. Can anyone shed some light, are there more tests or will it be just a chat and examination?????????

Hello In my experience the check up consists of an examination - discussion of any problems, and at my hospital they take a blood test to check full blood count. Hope this is helpful. I would mention anything you are not happy about! It is, afterall your chance to see either the surgeon or the oncologist so write down your questions so you get the most from the visit. best wishes, Jools x
