check ups
Had my six month check up for my stomach cancer today. Had terrible pains a couple of weeks ago although have been fine since. Feel constantly tired and keep getting dizzy even when I am sitting down and seeing double. Had eye test last week and they are ok. If I get the pains again I need to go in to get them checked but all the other things are nothing to do with it according to surgeon. He said I look well and don't need to be seen for another six months. How do they know there is nothing going on if they don't do any tests etc? All he done is feel my stomach. Am I being silly worrying about it? I never feel reassured after these checks. Do others feel the same?

Well, I think you'd feel more confident if they did some tests. Did they even do a blood test? Hopefully someone else with the same type will come along and advise you what happened to them, but in the meantime if your aches continue, I would say go back to the gp, and talk to him about it. Do you have a Cancer MacMillan nurse whom you saw during treatment? It sounds as though you need to speak to someone to put your mind at rest. All the very best xxxx Penny

Thanks for that. Spoke to specialist nurse and she actually thought I needed to see consultant rather than the junior doctor I was down to see. Will see my gp and take it from there. Hope it is something and nothing but can't help worrying. Also have breast cancer so if I have no real answers will ask to see my breast surgeon. Feel I am wasting people's time but better to be safe tahn sorry.
