Endometrial Cancer
What can I say? Well, 14.04.08 advised I had Endometrial cancer following hystoscopy for vaginal bleeding.I had not experienced the menopause and was still having periods,my last period however did not appear to end completely.I was told that I would need a total abdominal hysterectomy which would hopefully be the end of the matter.15.05.08 operation took place but was advised that a lymph gland had also been removed.4.06.08 the worst day of my life so far.. told I would need 6 courses of chemotherapy, CT scans and possibly radiotherapy on top.I cried all day and I am worried about my Mother who is disabled and needs my care, and of course my husband.I am terrified of the treatment and of course losing my hair. I start treatment next tuesday 17.06.08 and would love to others who have been here before me to tell me how they feel. Also what I can expect in the months to come?

Dear Jean,
from Steffy
I have not experienced your type of cancer, but I did have to have a hysterectomy due to endometriosis, so I know about the bleeding situation. All I really want to say is that all the people on this site will give you support in anyway they can, and will help you through your dark days and make you even happier on your sunny days.
We wish you all the very best , Good Luck

Very sorry to hear of your darkest day on 4th June. News of that sort makes one's entire world come to a stop and crumble. Empathasise totally with the bleeding as I suddenly started producing cupfuls in between periods. Chemo and radio together are particularly tough. At least you did have the total hysterectomy, as mine was dealt with just by chemo and RT, and I have been left with the ticking timebomb of big cyst on each ovary. I feel it is much better to get rid of the source of this illness, and once the chemo/RT have done their work, at least you will feel more assured that it is not going to reignite at the original site.
Wishing you all the very best for the treatment. Have you been told which chemo yet? Please keep us in touch. Big hugs xxx Penny
