Hello
Hi
I'm here because my Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last week, it has metastatised to his stomach and the pancreas has shut down so he has become insulin dependant.
We are still waiting for him to see Oncology and hear what they have to say, its annoying as they seem to be kicking their heals.
I think I am still in shock, although I am able to cry now, at first I couldnt do that.
I am so scared, I lost my father in law to oesophogeal cancer 10 years ago, really dont know if I can handle this.

Hi, I see you have started your blog as I suggested. Again, welcome to the site! I wonder whether you are any further forward with an appointment to see the Oncologist? The appointment with the oncol should be a way for you to find out more information about the cancer and what options are available for treatment - we often say take a pen and paper with you and write down your questions - and the answers as you can be given a lot of information in a short space of time. As I think I said to you in chat - its the not knowing that makes us feel so helpless and have no control. We will offer as much support here as you need - we truly understand the frustrations and angst that goes along with the shock of diagnosis. Best wishes and please keep us informed about how things are going. Dont forget you can ask cancerbackup helpline for explanations etc too. Strength and Love, Jools x
