Welcome to the site! I'm sure you're going to find it a great support - everyone is so helpful and friendly. Like you, I have ovarian cancer - I had my tumour removed a few weeks ago as it had grown into my bowel, and I am now waiting to start chemo - hopefully in a week or so. I'll be thinking of you on Monday, and look forward to chatting when you get back home after your op. In the meantime, hope everything goes really well. Love. Kate xxx
All the very best for next week, Carolyn, and I#ll look forward to hearing from you when you get back. Hope you meet lots of nice people in hospital.

I Carolyn..............Wishing you all the best for Monday, I have my op on Wednesday for the same as you. Try to be strong, thinking of you girl and let us all know how you get on. Take care sweetie..Love Carolx
Well, you have already found two matching numbers already! I have slightly diff gynae cancer, but just wanted to say hallo, and to wish you good luck with your op on Monday (yes, I would be slightly nervous too, but if you feel worried about going down to theatre, make sure you ask for a "pre-op" little pill, and that will put you at ease - they're nice, in fact get another one for me whilst you are there: :) !!! ) Seriously, I want to wish you all the very very best for your treatment. Have you got chemo as well, or any other treatment? Keep us posted, Carolyn and we shall all be thinking of you on Monday. xxxx Penny

Hi Caroly, welcome to the site, they are a great bunch on here and have given me alot of support when i have been low they have given me the strength to go on. I dont know much about your cancer as i have had breast cancer. You will get through it, i never thought i would, but have had my last chemo nearly 3 weeks ago, all thats left is 4weeks of radio and a couple of scans. Yesturday i got the wonderful news that its all gone. It wont be long before you get the same news. Try not to worry to much (silly thing to say as i know you cant help worrying). Hope all goes well for you monday please let us know how you get on. Im sure it wont be long before you hear those wonderful words ALL GONE.Will be thinking of you , Many hugs, love Carol 2 xx
Hi Carolyn
I too have ovarian cancer and have had it since 2006. I hope everything goes ok for you on Monday. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I look forward to hearing from you again. Catherine
Just to wish you lots of luck for Monday. I have breast cancer and at one stage I thought if one more person told me to keep my chin up and stay positive I would clock them one!! Having cancer certainly doesn't turn you in to the Dali Lama.
I have found the site really helpful and wish I had found it earlier so glad you have.
Hope you get nice staff in hospital. I have been in and out of two different hospitals with my mastectomy and various other hiccups and have experienced the best and the worst of the NHS - hope you get the former.
Thinking of you
Diane
Is there some Humour in my Tumour?
First post here, just registered to-day,bit nervous. To this point have read through some of the threads and found them very supportive and reassuring So many people seem to share the same feelings, fears and hopes. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March this year. I know how devastating it is to hear that news. Have had a hysterectomy, soon to have my 6th chemo. Chemo's not been as bad an experience as i had expected. Probably down to friends made at the unit i attend.Getting there and trying to be as positive as possible.Hope all went well with your surgery.Take the best care of yourself.

Hi, I'm back now after my operation and have just had my second chemo.
Thankyou everyone for all your kind wishes and support. The operation was huge, much bigger than I ever thought, as the cancer spread was extensive and they had to remove so much of me!! :( The recovery is slow especially as i had to start chemo so soon after, and it certainly knocked me around. I apologise for the delay in replying but really didn't quite have my head around anything for a while.I'm just starting to feel a little bit human?? again now.
Hope you are all going well with your treatments now too and feeling a bit stronger each day......luv Carolyn :)

Dear Carolyn
It was really good to hear from you again - but you poor thing, what a horrid time you've been having. I think all of us with ovarian cancer have ended up having a bigger operation than we expected and it does take ages to recover. What chemo are you on now? I've just had my 2nd session too, and am finding it a bit harder to cope with than the first, though I was lucky to have a long break between my operation and starting chemo. Anyway, it's lovely to have you back with us and I hope to catch up with you in the chatroom at some point. (Or send me a private message if you feel like chatting about gory details!) Take care of yourself.
Love, Kate xxx
Thanks so much for all the good wishes. I found the 2nd chemo better than the first as I think I had recovered a bit better from the op and I bounced back a couple of days sooner.Yesterday I had my 3rd chemo.I started some acupuncture prior to this last chemo to see if it will help with the recovery (recommeded by some who have tried it)I will let you know. Has anyone else tried acupunture or similar?
The chemo i am on is iv taxol, and intraperitoneal carboplatin. I am so excited, my dr told me Y/day that may ca125 marker has dropped from 200 to 20 after only 2 chemos.I need to get to and stay under 10.Apparently the quicker the drop the better the prognosis.Anxious now to see what the next one will be?
Take care........
Love Carolyn
p.s.I'd love to get to chat to you all but as I live in Australia the times don't suit me too well.

Dear Carolyn,
Yoy are a very brave lady, though I am quite sure you do not feel like that at times. I read these posts and feel nothing but admiration for you and those like you who are having to fight this terrible disease. My husband was diagnosed in March with bowel/liver cancer, he has had some many ups and downs I have lost count. He has his 4th cycle of chemo this Thurs. We have 10 yr old triplets so its al been pretty tough. I feel so much for you losing your son, we too lost our 14yr old son in 1994, so know only too well how painful and sad life is. Good luck and God Bless xxxx
Dear triplets,
it is inspirational to read what people go through on this terrible cancer journey, yet still have hearts big enough to reach out and want to give love and support to their fellow sufferers and carers.
So sorry to hear of your husbands diagnosis. You certainly have had a tough time, you are so brave, I can only imagine how hard this must be for you, and with 10 yr old triplets!!Saddens me to know you have also lost a child and my heart goes out to you.
Yes we are still reeling from the loss of our son,we miss him so much. To have my diagnosis only 6wks later has been so tough, not only for me (as it raises questions about my own mortality and how I can help my family get through all this, perhaps without me?), but for my family who can't beleive what on earth is going on!!They wonder what have we done to deserve all this??
As my rock (husband) says ...'what doesn't kill us just makes us stronger' and we are are just going to stay positive and take each day as it comes. My treatment so far is going well so we are off to a good start. Staying positive...Luv Carolyn xx
