Hyperpyrexia in Brain tumours

My brotherinlaw has recently been diagnosed with 2 frontal brain tumours and medullary brain tumour, he recently had a viral infection which has cleared up but now he is having raging high temperatures with rigor, he is having Manitol infusions and steriods on alternate days
The start of the temperature begins with him becomming almost purple and then red +++ He has been treated for metastic cancer and all those markers have dropped down with Avistan but the brain tummours were not picked up initally. Is there anything we can do to help him when this begins? it is very distressing to see. He lives in
Italy and all the care is being done at home. Thanks
