It's all mad isn't it

Hi guys,

I'm new to the site and have recently been diagnosed with AML.

It's crazy the speed all this happens at isn't it?!
I woke up with a cough one morning ,three days later I
was diagnosed with cancer!

Anyways, just thought I'd say hi to everyone.

Hi

Hiya!
I'm 23 and I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) last year, I'm in remission now! :) I read your other post on the young peoples blog and thought I would say hi. Would be nice to see you in chat sometime.
Take care,
Katie.

Hi Katie, Well keep an eye

Hi Katie,

Well keep an eye out for me
I'd love to hear from you
and I'm pretty much online most
of the time.

Definitely mad!

Yup, it's definitely mad. One day my husband goes off for a chest X ray for a cough, while I start getting packed to go on holiday that week, the next the GP phones saying 'shadows on lungs' and it's off to CT, and a DX of metastatic kidney cancer two days before we fly off....

And EVERYTHING in our world crumbles......Just like that!

All the very best to you, and hope the treatment you get starts cracking in.

Julie.

AML

Hi Sean,

Just did a search on AML and your message came up, my mum was diagnosed with AML back in March and has so far had 2 courses of chemo. A 10 day and an 8 day and is just about to start her third course which is 5 days. She then has to go up to London for a stem cell transplant so long as the AN trust can find her a donor.
As you say it comes on really quick, she felt ill one week and my Dad eventually persuaded her to go to the docs, that afternoon she was in hospital having tests and later that week was diagnosed with AML.

Anyway I really hope you get on well with your treatment, you will see there is another lady on this forum whose husband has AML - if you havent done so already you should just do a search on AML and read some of the other strings. I certainly found this very useful and it was nice to be able to tell my mum about other peoples stories and how they were getting on and to compare notes - think you will find this forum very useful and hopefully reassuring.

All the best

Cath
