Hi Junior.

Hi Junior.
You are about the same stage as me although I am on the 1 injection of zoladex every 3 months. I am also on a clinic trial called stampede.
My Gleason count was 4 + 4 which was not good news but not in the bones which is good news! My PSA which was 24.6 is now down to 0.1 which is great.
I wondered if you are following any alternative methods at the same time? I have found a book by Prof Jane Plant very useful called "Prostate Cancer" and also her book "The Plant Programme" for recipes for fighting prostate cancer! I have changed my diet and lifestyle quite dramatically. I do know others who have successfully done the same.
Anyway I wish you all the best and will follow your diary with interest.
Regards
Michael
PS I am attending the Churchill Hospital in Oxford.

Prostate cancer

Hi Junior,

Its not good when first diagnosed, well its not good at anytime. but it does get better.

A bit of information which you might alredy know.

I am a long way down the road now diagnosed in November 2005.
Zoladex has side effects. I was not told the side effects and had to drag information about everything out of Urologist/onclogist.They seemed surprised that I was not aware that zoladex causes Testes and penis to shrink and after 18 months I started to bleed from round edge off foreskin. This was resolved by a a circumssion. They said the bleeding could not have been caused by the Zoladex but what else could it have been. They did not have an answer.

My last implant of Zoladex was January 2008, and it has April 2008 was .08 and as it started at PSA 19 I am quite pleased wih the way things are going.. I am waiting with some trepidation for my next check wich is Sept 25th.

Just thought would let you know how I was progessing Junior, so hang in there and you will be alright. As on oncologist Dr Sadeeka said to me "prostate cancer is more a nussiance than a illness" I thought it was awful at the time but now can have a laugh about it.

Wish you well junior.
Take Care

God bless

Brian F
