oesophagectomy?

Has anyone had an oesophagectomy for cancer and how long did it take to recover properly?

Hi my dad had an oesophagectomy in dec 06 . I think it is very difficult to judge how long it will take to recover from an operation like this as there are so many things that can affect recovery, eg age etc. they do say 6 to 12 months

Oesophagectomy

I had one in November 2005. I would say it was about 6 months before I was fully recovered, but I'v been living a pretty normal life since.

Hi
I saw you question regarding the esophogeal surgery. It was awhile ago so I don't know if it's still relevant for you.

I have heard this is a difficult surgery to recover from & a lot of complications. Be careful.
