Petition for Cancer Sufferers
A cancer sufferer has set up an e-petition on the 10 Downing Street website,
Seems there are many of us suffering from cancer and cannot get funding for the necessary treatment , and PCT's throughout the country seem to be withholding funding on a cost basis leading to postcode lottery. This petition wants proven cancer drugs to be freely available on the NHS, regardless of where you live in the UK

PS Just found out that my appeal for Sorafenib has been refused. Reason given they say its not cost effective. So it proves once again that it is about MONEY not care.
How do they sleep at night.
...Not sure if I signed it when Tomdog and I first spoke and the petition knows I've already signed it - or whether pm.gov.uk are just trying to put people off. Can someone else have a go please? xxx Penny

Could it be because They do not want people to sign the petition? Could it be that They have closed the petition at the first opportunity before too many people sign it? It is a disgrace about Tomdog getting turned down. As he says, how do They sleep at night? I suppose They are so tired trotting down to Harrods to buy their expense account stuff, eating Luncheon, and Pressing the Flesh at some select evening function.... Definitely no xxxxxs. Dear All,
Tried the link mentioned above with same result - GOT NOWHERE....BUT went to the No 10 Web Page and discovered the petetion (which has been duplicated) is in fact under a different log in - THE CORRECT CONNECTION IS

The petetion doesn't close until September BUT THERE ARE ONLY 300 SIGNATURES SO FAR!
Note I have added (Terminal Cancer Sufferer) behind my name and it shows on the petetion - sure it wont make any difference but add something similar and cause Downing Street a little embarresment!

I used Matt's link and it worked fine - have forwarded it to my office colleagues asking everyone to sign up, so with luck that will be another few names. Will it make a difference . . . I doubt it!

I too have signed today but just wondering, i had an email from macmillan last week for same/similar thing as a cocy was also going to local mp. is it the same thing? has anyone else had it?

I'm just noting this as I fear it is slipping off the topic board. I don't know if the What Now Team could post this on the front page instead? Would have thought we'd need thousands of signatures. It may not affect you or your own family at this time, but it may later.
