share your experience of (adult) leukaemia

Would you like to share your experience of LEUKAEMIA and help the development of a new website for patients and health professionals? Were you aged 18 or over at diagnosis?

BACKGROUND
DIPEx is a charity that produces an award winning website www.dipex.org that provides access to the experiences of others who have gone through illness or faced a health issue. On the DIPEx site you can watch video clips, listen to the voices or read the accounts of people relating their experiences about topics such as signs and symptoms, diagnosis, treatment choices and any side-effects, telling family and friends, living with it and the effects on relationships. The site also has answers to patients’ own frequently asked questions, reliable medical information and links to other resources such as websites, organisations (including CancerBackup), support groups and publications.

The DIPEx Research Group are based in the Department of Primary Health Care, University of Oxford.

TAKING PART
Taking part in the project would involve being interviewed about your experience of leukaemia, including what has happened to you, what your thoughts and feelings have been at different stages, how you have got information, how you have made decisions and what have been the good and bad parts of the experience.

If you would like to find out more information about the project and what you would need to do, please contact me at the address below. Please note that contacting me does not commit you to taking part, all enquiries are dealt with in confidence.

cll

I was diagnosed with cll 2 months ago . I am 63 years old and have been told it is a case of wait and watch. I took pneumonia in June of this year and that was when they found out I had CLL . I feel tired and weak most of the time and do not know if this is because of the CLL or after effects of pneumonia . Is it true there is no cure for this leukaeia.
