Symptoms towards the end?
I am confused as to if a brain tumour cannot be cured and becomes terminal if the medication that helps with the symptons last for a long period of time? Before the end do all people with brain tumours have the tiredness, the confusion? Is none of this sudden and without change to the person, physically?

Hi there, can't advise you but have you looked on the cancerbackup site under brain tumours? its very informative, also, the helpline is very good, they should be able to answer your questions. all the best
i am not positive, i am realistic
Hi
Brain Tumours can cause physical change and this is due to the use of steroids, which can cause muscle wastage also if the tumour is debaulked, the opertaion can cause physical changes as the brain is a very complex organ. tiredness and confusion normally occur when the tumour grows and puts pressure onto the brain. This normally creeps up and is not a sudden change
hope this helps

Hi Little Miss, alot depends on the tumour grade. I can only tell you about grade IV which my husband has. The medication helps to reduce the swelling thus reduces the pressure on the brain. he has and still does suffer tiredness and confusion. At one stage when he was very ill he was sleeping 20 hrs a day but they changed his drugs and he isnot so bad now. Nearer the end I believe this is how some patients pass away by sleeping more and more, unable to swallow food. Some Brain Tumour patients also suffer from seizures. Alot also depends on the Tumour position and what part of the brain is affected. Hope this helps abit
