The site is here to provide support and friendship when perhaps other sources aren’t available. So please welcome everyone knew into the chat room and help each other out as best you can.
Please have fun and enjoy yourselves, but do remember that some people are there for support, so please just be aware of how others in the chat rooms are feeling.
Strong language and vulgarity are prohibited. Use a similar standard of language to what you might hear on pre-watershed TV, on the radio, or in any other public forum. Please use common sense and courtesy. If you wouldn't say it in polite company you shouldn't say it here.
No personal insults to others.
Please avoid confrontation. The chat rooms are set up so you can have private chats and create new rooms so if there is a personality clash, please make use of the space.
We recommend not giving out any personal details at any time. Members can contact you through the site, so there should be no need.
Ask people by private message first if it’s ok to email them. Please don't assume that because they have their account set to receive emails that they will be welcome. New members may not understand that can turn emails off.
Site editors reserve the right to remove anyone from the chat rooms at our discretion. We reserve the right to contact appropriate authorities if we feel a member is extremely vulnerable or has threatened suicide. However, as there is not always an editor in the chat rooms, we cannot guarantee that someone will contact emergency personnel for you. We are not equipped to handle crisis situations. Please join the site only once. People need to know who they are talking to. To join the site multiple times is prohibited.
Cybersex and picking up "dates" is not allowed in this chat.
Jokes which are off-color, racist, homophobic or otherwise offensive are not permitted.
No spamming the forum or chat room with advertisements of any type.
