Breast Cancer Portraits

Agata Cardoso began capturing portraits of women affected by breast cancer after her mother was diagnosed.

In her words: "These portraits are about reaching for the essence of life and recognising that many of us only do this when we are confronted with our own mortality. We take our bodies for granted, abusing them without realising that our bodies are indeed weak and fragile and prone to disease"
