Breast cancer

I have recently been diagnosed with Lymphoedema. I am attending the physio at my local hospital. She has given me exercises and lovely lymphoedema garments to wear on my arm. There are times when I am fine and then there are times when I do not feel as good. I have been told that it is long term. To date the swelling has gone down slightly.

Well That's the fourth chemo over with. I did wonder whether \i would be able to have it today because the cough is still here and although it sounds pretty dreadful it really isn't no infection etc. So when the doctor asked me what I wanted to do I said go ahead with it. The chemo nurse had to search for a vein , nothing new there then.

Well, thankfully that was easy. First rads done today for BC. Just a few moments under invisiable rays and off you go, see you tomorrow they cheerfully cry. Compared to chemo its a doddle. See what i say after three weeks lol.

I'm a new member - just registered. I had a double mastectomy May 28, 2008. I did not get reconstruction at the time of my surgery. My surgeon recommended I wait until after chemotherapy treatment. I completed my last taxol treatment Nov 29. Am now thinking of reconstruction. I am only 39 - am very self concious about how I look in the mirror. I don't like it much!

I've now had my Oncology appointment and think I have all the information I was waiting for. 20mm tumour, grade 3 with 4 nodes positive, oestrogen receptor negative. CT scan and Bonescan both clear. Only thing I don't know is HER2 status yet....seems to take a while?

This time last year I had just been diagnosed with breast cancer (2nd time around) and was walking round Sainsbury's like a zombie trying to work out how many brussel sprouts per person for lunch the next day...
