bowel cancer

Hi Everyone

I was diagnosed with colon cancer 5 weeks ago. As a fit, 39 year old mum with no family history of this disease, the news came as quite a shock to me which I am still not over.

I am sure everyone will want to join me in sending love and sympathy to Mair. She has been caring for her beloved husband Tony during his long battle with Bowel Cancer - a battle he lost last night. Mair has her family at home with her, but I am sure her alternative family here on Whatnow want to send her our love and best wishes at this difficult time.

Day 1
Well, I had my first chemo 'outing' yesterday. I went to Clatterbridge Hospital on Wirral and was impressed with the friendly staff and their thoroughness and professionalism.

Started my second cycle on CAPOX this Monday. I met my parents for a walk around the park and a drink beforehand, then we all headed down together to the clinic.

What a horrible word! For me, it is a liberation. First of all I have a border collie who makes it fun. Fortunately, I had formed the habit of being the one to take Cassie to the park in the morning. First walk of the day when the world is fresh-er.
